What is WISA?

WISA – "Wise and Inventive ScreenAgers" is a two-year Erasmus+ KA2 School Strategic Partnerships project on Media Literacy carried out by 4 participating schools from the Czech Republic, Greece, Romania and Turkey.

PROJECT START AND END DATE: 1.9.2018 – 31.8.2020

OBJECTIVES:

  • ● To increase Media Education in participating schools by implementing project activities and creating media-based and media literacy supporting environment.
  • ● To equip students with critical thinking skills in relation with media messages (ability to evaluate, analyze, understand and use media content) in order to become critical and responsible media consumers.
  • ● To develop students' ability to create and responsibly disseminate media content and become skillful media creators.
  • ● To promote international and intercultural environment in participating schools.

PROJECT ACTIVITIES

  • There are 5 transnational activities during the project:
    • ● A 3-day Teacher Training Activity: "Conference on Media Education, Media Literacy and Open Education". The conference was held in Brno, Czech Republic on November 16-18, 2019.
    • ● 4 Short-term Exchanges of Students held in all partner countries successively, each tackling a different topic regading Media Literacy.
    • ● 1st Transnational Meeting in Greece: Storytelling & Movie-making Lab; Wikipedia & the
    • ● Internet of Things – February 2019
    • ● 2nd Transnational Meeting in Romania: Wise Media Consumers and Creators; Digital Creative Writing Lab & Digital storytelling – May 2019
    • ● 3rd Transnational Meeting in the Czech Republic: Fact or Media Fiction – September 2019
    • ● 4th Transnational Meeting in Turkey: Conflict in the Context – February 2020
